2022’s Best Money-Making Apps
According to a recent study, the average American checks their phone 344 times per day. If you break down that math, it’s once every 4 minutes, and if you’re like us that’s a low estimate. Wouldn’t it be great to earn something for all that time? Well, turns out there are some money-making apps that can do just that. These seven apps can all make you a pretty penny, though there is some hard work involved.
Doordash:
Now granted, being a Doordash food driver does require some free time and access to a car, but if you have those things you can make bank. Some of the benefits of driving for Doordash include optional scheduled shifts which guarantee work, peak pay, and no prohibition on passengers. The app also encourages users to leave large tips, which is certainly a plus.
Fiverr:
If you’re a freelancer looking for work, you need to download Fiverr ASAP. The app, which is free to use, can connect you to freelance jobs in industries as varied as SEO, writing, graphic design, and virtual assisting. Once your project is complete, you’re paid the rate you’ve set for yourself. The only negative to be on the lookout for? Finding a first gig can be tricky.
Rakuten:
If you’ve ever wanted to make money shopping, Rakuten is the app for you. It’s free to use, and simply requires you to do your shipping through Rakuten’s app or website. Forever purchase made through their affiliate links to sites including Amazon, Target, Sephora, and Nordstrom, Rakuten makes money. In turn, the company pays customers 1% to 40% rewards on their purchases. The only thing to keep in mind, Rakuten pays out quarterly.
Poshmark:
If you feel like you have too many clothes and accessories like electronics, home decor, pet products, and beauty supplies lying around, make some extra money selling them on Poshmark. You simply take photos of your listed items, and once a purchase is made Poshmark will send a pre-paid shipping label. Once the buyer receives their order, you’ll be paid via direct deposit or check within three days. Bear in mind the app does charge seller fees, however.
Decluttr
Decluttr is similar to Poshmark. However, instead of fashion, the site allows users to sell used tech like computers, phones, tablets, video game consoles and games, CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays. As explained by Millennial Money, “Once you sign up, simply scan the barcodes on your CDs, video games, and DVDs, and the app will tell you whether they’re accepted or not. For tech items like cell phones and laptops, Decluttr will make you an offer based on its make, model, and condition. You’re guaranteed the original price Decluttr offers you, or you can request to have your tech items shipped back for free.”
Acorns:
Desperate to set up investments but don’t feel like you have the time? Acorns might be worth looking into. The free app can be set up so that all your purchases are rounded up to the nearest dollar, and in turn, that extra money is invested into ETFs, AKA exchange-traded funds. According to Acorns, “An ETF holds assets such as stocks, commodities, or bonds, and trades close to its net asset value over the course of the trading day. Most ETFs track an index, such as a stock index or bond index. ETFs can be attractive as investments because of their low costs, tax efficiency, and stock-like features.”
Uber:
You didn’t think we’d leave the most famous app off of this list did you? If you have a car newer than 15 years old and want to make a living… or simply some extra change in your spare time, Uber is right there waiting for you. You can ferry passengers, or simply run Uber Eats drop-offs to hungry customers.
Financially savvy use of these money-making apps can put a ton of extra cash in your pocket and pad your family’s bank account.
